What You'll Do
✔ Perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms
✔ Obtain diagnostic-quality images using appropriate cardiac ultrasound views
✔ Complete valve-area, gradient, pressure, velocity, and related calculations
✔ Prepare patients and explain procedures in a clear, reassuring manner
✔ Monitor patient safety throughout examinations
✔ Document studies and manage information through hospital imaging systems
✔ Maintain clean, prepared examination rooms and stocked supplies
✔ Communicate findings and workflow needs appropriately with physicians and clinical staff
✔ Follow infection-control, safety, customer-service, and medical-ethics standards
Minimum Qualifications
Required
✔ Associate degree
✔ ARDMS echocardiography registration or CCI cardiac sonography credential, or eligibility to obtain the required credential within six months of hire
✔ Knowledge of complete 2D, M-mode, adult echocardiography, and transesophageal echo procedures
✔ Ability to perform required cardiac measurements and calculations
✔ Independent judgment, patient-care skills, and professional communication
Preferred
·       Bachelor’s degree is preferred
·       One year of experience in complete 2D, M-mode, adult echo, and transesophageal echo is preferred
