What You’ll Do

✔ Evaluate patients to determine their speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing needs.

✔ Identify patients who may benefit from skilled speech language therapy services.

✔ Develop individualized plans of care based on assessment findings, patient needs, and functional goals.

✔ Provide evidence based treatment designed to improve communication, cognition, speech, language, and swallowing function.

✔ Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.

✔ Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members on treatment strategies and safety recommendations.

✔ Communicate clearly with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

✔ Complete accurate and timely documentation to support treatment planning, progress, and continuity of care.

✔ Manage daily priorities independently while maintaining strong organization and time management.

✔ Contribute to a collaborative rehabilitation environment focused on quality outcomes and compassionate care.

Required

✔ Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.

✔ Current Missouri Speech Language Pathologist license or eligibility to obtain licensure before starting.

✔ Strong verbal, nonverbal, written, and listening skills.

✔ Effective problem solving, planning, organization, and time management abilities.

✔ Basic computer skills and the ability to complete accurate clinical documentation.

✔ Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

✔ Physical stamina to sit for extended periods, walk and move throughout the facility, and lift up to 20 pounds.

Preferred

• One year of Speech Language Pathology experience.

• Previous skilled nursing, long term care, or adult rehabilitation experience.

• Experience treating speech, language, cognitive, communication, or swallowing disorders.

• New graduates with strong clinical preparation and an interest in adult and geriatric rehabilitation are encouraged to apply.
