Technologists are involved throughout the patient experience, from reviewing the order and preparing the patient through performing the exam, completing documentation, and making imaging available for radiologist interpretation.

You'll work across both CT and diagnostic radiography, providing the variety that many multi-modality technologists prefer. In a Critical Access Hospital environment, your technical judgment and ability to problem-solve independently are especially valuable.

The compressed schedule is another major advantage. Depending on the opening selected, you can work either three longer shifts from Thursday through Saturday or four afternoon/evening shifts Monday through Thursday. Both create multiple consecutive days away from work each week.

The department collaborates closely with local providers, other hospital departments, and radiologists while giving technologists significant responsibility for patient care and imaging workflow.

There may also be opportunities to train across additional modalities depending on departmental needs, credentials, and experience, making this an appealing environment for technologists who enjoy continuing to expand their imaging skills.

Outside the hospital, Eastern Oregon offers access to mountain trails, lakes, rivers, hiking, cycling, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and a quieter rural lifestyle.

What You'll Do

✔ Perform diagnostic X-ray and CT examinations from start to finish

✔ Prepare, position, and care for patients throughout imaging procedures

✔ Perform CT examinations with and without contrast

✔ Initiate IV access when required

✔ Verify imaging orders, authorizations, medical necessity, and appropriate laboratory results

✔ Apply proper positioning, collimation, exposure factors, and radiation safety principles

✔ Follow ALARA and departmental patient-safety standards

✔ Complete documentation within the EHR, RIS, and PACS workflow

✔ Maintain infection-control and equipment-safety standards

✔ Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, radiologists, patients, and families

✔ Participate in scheduled call coverage

✔ Cross-train or assist with training in additional modalities when appropriate

Minimum Qualifications

Required

✔ Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program

✔ ARRT certification in Radiography

✔ ARRT certification in Computed Tomography

✔ Oregon Board of Medical Imaging licensure for applicable modalities

✔ Basic Life Support certification

✔ Ability to meet continuing education requirements for applicable credentials

Preferred

At least one year of hospital-based radiography experience

At least one year of CT experience

Additional credentials in MRI, mammography, or other imaging modalities are welcomed.
